Reason 1

Having been propelled into leadership positions out of university and having worked for multinational companies for more than 30 years, with long-term transformational change as a red thread throughout my career, with experience with start-ups and scale-ups added into the mix in recent years, I have learned that pragmatic solutions win the day.

So, if you are looking for (unnecessary) complexity then I’m not your guide . 😉​

Reason 2

Even though I hate mistakes, I make them too – regular reminders that I’m only human. They help me relax into being fallible. Some days, I procrastinate endlessly by cleaning the house and the garden only to hold off on getting started with something I find cumbersome – including writing this bio.

And some days, I wish the current systems away and want to reboot and start over.

So, if you are looking for perfection, keep looking.​

Reason 3

Paradoxically, in my experience we often end up with a different question than your initial support question. I can take in and process quickly, a wide variety of information, which tends to expose the deeper underlying problems. Probing questions help you redefine the core issue, which requires solving first.

Together we define the most pragmatic solution to this. When you are venturing into unknown territory, I make sure you feel that I’ve got your back – without ever losing sight of the important context.

Would you rather deal with the first thing that springs to mind? Then I’m not the right guy for you. ​

Reason 4

Have you taken the first steps towards defining your organisation’s purpose (to attract talent, for marketing or other reasons), only to discover that substantial change remained elusive? That’s because change is difficult: many organisations are paralysed by the idea that becoming a truly purposeful company is hopelessly unattainable. I bring extensive professional experience with large multi-year transformation processes. From this I’ve learned one thing: it. can. be. done.

Reason 5

Ownership of the change journey stays with you and the organisation. Together with you, I can orchestrate the full transition process including how to win the hearts and minds in the organisation. That’s because I wholeheartedly want change to be real.

However, I have learned that I cannot change anyone; you can only change yourself. That is why I equip you to be able to continue the process after I rotate off.

If you expect someone to change you, don’t call me.  ​

Through quick wins, we inspire the rest of your organisation to want to become a part of the transformation process too. 

If you would rather make a quantum leap then make many small steps to successfully transform, I’m not the coach for you.  ​

Reason 7

In my experience, a healthy dose of humour contributes to a fun and enjoyable transformation journey, particularly when some of the experiments don’t immediately yield the desired results and things can get a bit tough; it helps sustain the high levels of positive energy and oxygen needed to prevail. 

So, if you are a serious hard driving task master, I doubt we’ll agree on the best road to success.   ​
